US Secretary Of State To Visit Nigeria

United States Secretary of State , Antony Blinken, is scheduled to be in Nigeria for a bi-lateral meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

The State Department disclosed this on Thursday, adding that he will also travel to Kenya, and Senegal from November 15 to 20.

Issues to be discussed with the Nigerian government include democracy, global health and energy.

Blinken will also discuss the covid-19 pandemic and regional security with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta while he will “reaffirm the close partnership between” U.S, and Senegal.

The US is one of the strong international partners of Nigeria and regularly expresses opinion on developments in the country.

Recall that it had threatened visa restriction on anyone who attempts to rig the just concluded Anambra State governorship election.

After the poll went in favor of Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, the US commented on the electoral process.
