Use Face Masks As Part Of Sallah Attire, FG Admonishes Muslims

The Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on COVID-19 has appealed to Muslims to adopt the use of face masks as part of their attire when they celebrate the Eid-al-Fitr in a few days time.

National Coordinator of PTF, Sani Aliyu made the appeal on Thursday during the ongoing taskforce briefing.

Aliyu, while urging Nigerians to respect the medical and PTF guidelines by practicing social distancing and avoiding mass gathering, said “We should make sure we use face masks as part of our sallah attire this year.”

He said as Muslims celebrate sallah, they should not allow the disease to also celebrate with them.

He said COVID-19 infection had not gone away, and called on the elderly to take care of themselves.

He, however, expressed optimism that the virus would go away, but people should abide by the guidelines.
