VIDEO: Buruji Kashamu’s Corpse Buried Amid Mammoth Crowd

Social distancing protocol was far from the mind of a mammoth crowd of mourners who thronged the residence of the late Buruji Kashamu to witness the interment of the corpse of the former Ogun East Senator on Sunday.

Kashamu, who was buried at his residence in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, had died from coronavirus (COVID-19) on Saturday.

The 62-year-old politician died at the First Cardiology Consultants Hospital in Lagos, according to his former colleague in the 8th Senate, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.

A video in circulation on social media showed that sympathisers and loyalists of the late politician flouted protocols recommended by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

Among sympathisers who reportedly attended Kashamu’s burial were Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Ogun Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, former Deputy Governors Senator Gbenga Kaka and Segun Adesegun.

Others were Senator Lekan Mustapha, former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, who was represented by Alhaji Abdul-Majeed Ekelojumati.
