Viral Video: Detectives Establish Contact With Ibadan Victim Of Police Harassment

Police detectives in Lagos have established contact with the newly discharged female member of the National Youth Service Corps harrased by some cops in Ibadan.

The police also said two more arrests have been made in the case making the total number of arrest four including a civilian accomplice.

The video of the lady who was being asked dehumanising questions by some policemen on Ibadan went viral on Wednesday and the Inspector General of Police , Mohammed Adamu, ordered investigation into the case.

The policemen had gone to Ibadan from Lagos on an operation and the lady was said to have been seen with the suspect they arrested.

The policeman interrogating the victim was heard asking her questions about her sex life using uncouth language.

They filmed her while.rollibg on the ground and threatened to make everybody see her face in the video as the lady begged and cried.

Following the IGP order, two policemen Tijani Olatunji and Gboyega Oyeniyi were arrested for their involvement in the case.

But the police announced in a series of tweets again on Friday night that two more persons had been arrested.

The two additional persons arrested are Aiyedun Akeem and one Ope Owoeye, who is the civilian accomplice popularly known as ‘Wyclef’

They said the victim who claimed to be a newly discarded corps members in the video had been contacted and justice would be done.

The tweets read, “All four persons implicated arrested.

“Investigation is still ongoing after which the Force internal disciplinary procedures will commence for the officers.

“Detectives at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, have established contact with the victim. Justice would not only be done but will be seen to have been manifestly done.”
