We Acted For The North By Removing Jonathan, Says Masari

The former Speaker at the House of Representatives said that northern Nigeria would have been in misery had Jonathan won the 2015 presidential election.

Speaking at the 33rd annual symposium in memory of late Malam Aminu Kano held at the Centre for Democratic Research and Training, AKCDRT, Mambayya House, Kano, Masari described the situation the north found itself as precarious in which the region fall short in every aspect of human development.

He maintained that the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari has brought glimmer of hope to the north and anticipation of the return of socio-economic prosperity.

They have been fears that Jonathan was going to implement the report of the National Political Conference with far reaching implications for the existing skewed federal system if he had won reelection.

Meanwhile, the chief host of the occasion, Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by his deputy, Professor Hafiz Abubakar described leadership task as challenging and that hardly could anyone out of the corridor of power understand what obtained in the seat of power.

The deputy governor informed the gathering from personal experience that what obtained in today’s leadership with the fall of crude oil price, made the call for alternative to crude oil to become necessary.
