The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to come to their aid by fixing the terrible federal roads in South-East Nigeria, especially in Abia State, before they ground economic activities of the people.

The Igbo socio-cultural group also called on the Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, to block every leakage in revenue of the state in order to help the government expedite action on governance and empower Abia youths.

President General of the council, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, in a statement also urged the governor to put measures in place that will alleviate the scourge of recession in the state.

“Ohanaeze Youths call on President Buhari to intervene and help rebuild South-East Federal roads, especially in Aba. We hasten to remind Mr. President that he still holds the highest chieftaincy title of Aba, Ogbu Agu I of Aba.

“Mr. President, as of today, we cannot easily access the road to the palace of HRM Eze Isaac Ikonne, where chieftaincy was conferred on you.

“Federal roads in the South-East, and Abia State in particular, are begging for Federal Government’s attention,” said Isiguzoro.
