We Have Over 80m Liters Of Aviation Fuel, NNPC Debunks Reports Of Scarcity

The Mele Kyari led management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has debunked media reports that the nation was in short of aviation fuel.

According to the NNPC, “the current Nationwide Aviation Fuel stock holding is robust enough at over 80 million Liters translating to more than 37 days sufficiency.”

The Corporation was reacting to an article published in a national daily on Wednesday which was titled “Domestic Airfair Rises by 25% on Aviation Fuel Scarcity”.

Speaking in a statement by its Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu, NNPC stressed that “Airline operators and other consumers of aviation fuel are assured of adequate stock to meet their energy needs.”

The Corporation advised marketers to “refrain from any act that could impede the supply and distribution of this products while the Corporation would do all it could to sustain the seamless supply of the product nationwide.”

It also advised Nigerians to “remain vigilant and volunteer information to the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), the Industry regulator or to any law enforcement agency around them, on anyone that attempts to take expense of the consumers or hoard the product.”
