We Haven’t Received Oyo-Ita’s Retirement Letter —Presidency

The Presidency has refuted claims that it is in possession of a retirement letter allegedly forwarded by embattled Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita.

It was widely reported on Monday that Oyo-Ita, in a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, offered to proceed on retirement.

Recall that the HoS is currently facing probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, following an alleged N3 billion contract scam probe.

But the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said in a text message that there is no such letter in the presidency’s possession.

“Thanks. We have no such letter here, in the event that such a letter exists. This is our position,” he wrote.
