A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, Professor Gregory Ibe, has insisted that the “Abia Charter of Equity” must come to play in the 2023 governorship election in the state, stressing that Abia North must produce the next governor of the state.

The politician, who spoke on Tuesday when he featured in a radio program ‘OPEN PARLIAMENT’ on Family Love FM Umuahia monitored by our correspondent, revealed that members of the party in Abia North took oath to support the candidate of Abia South(Ikpeazu) for governorship till 2023.

Prof. Ibe stated that the two senatorial districts took oath with kolanut to support Abia South to produce the governor in 2015 in the person of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.

He accused the elders of being quiet on agitation to produce the next governor of the state from Abia North.

Prof. Ibe expressed disappointment that while Igbo is agitating to be given opportunity to produce the next President, back home in Abia, an agreement reached on rotation is about to be flouted.

The politician said he dropped his governorship ambition to support Ikpeazu’s second term election, maintaining that equity and justice is the only way to ensure unity in Abia.
