We Will Not Beg Enyeama to Come Back – NFF

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has released a statement insisting they will not talk to keeper Vincent Enyeama, about a return to the Super Eagles.

This is coming after the former Super Eagles skipper announced on his Instagram page that he was quitting international football after 13 years and 101 caps.

The NFF through its spokesman Ademola Olajire, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Thursday, that the Federation will do nothing to persuade Enyeama to withdraw his decision.

He said; “We heard about his quitting the national team on his Instagram page. If somebody says he is retiring from the national team, what are we going to do, to beg him?

“We don’t know if he is leaving the national team because of his quarrel with the coach (Sunday Oliseh). He just wrote on his Instagram page that he was leaving the national team. So, why should we be finding out whether he left because of the rift?

“The player has gone out of the camp, what do you want us to do. He has left the camp and he did not tell anybody that he was leaving.”

Despite the best efforts from NFF boss Amaju Pinnick to resolve the tension between Enyeama and Coach Sunday Oliseh, the 33 year old shot-stopper still made the big decision to quit the team.
