Weird Pastors Of Africa: From Grass Eating, Drinking Of Fuel To Removing Underwear

As diverse as the landscape is, so are its ‘ministers of God’. Their methods vary from the shocking to the ridiculous.

Here is a rundown of some of Africa’s weird pastors.

Pastor Lesego Daniel

Pastor Daniel is a South African preacher that made his congregation eat grass to claiming it makes them ‘closer to God’. Before then, he has forced petrol down the throat of his members and well as using them as a human carpet.

The pastor who operates under the Rabboni Centre Ministry in order to prove it was fuel, poured some of the liquid into a bucket before dropping a lit match into it.

Unveiling his latest ‘miracle’ to the congregation, he then told them that the petrol had been turned into pineapple juice and persuaded people to line up to take a sip from a bottle of the liquid.

 

Pastor Penuel Mnguni

Penuel Mnguni, who is barely 24, is the leader of End Times Disciples Ministries Church in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria, South Africa.

In one of his services, he allegedly declared a snake a bar of chocolate (Chomp) for the congregation to eat.

According to a post on End Times Disciples Ministries Facebook page, the pastor told the congregation the he had “the authority to change everything into anything and it will obey because of our authority”.

 

Pastor Rev. Njohi

This Kenyan pastor set the internet buzzing when he said bras and underwear hinder female congregants’ relationship with God and asked them to remove their undies before coming to church.

Njohi, who is the pastor of the Lord’s Propeller Redemption Church in Kenya, told the Daily Post of Kenya that undergarments are “ungodly.”

After warning his female congregants about the evils of skivvies, the ‘God-fearing pastor’ spoke of the damnation they will suffer if they dare not to go bare underneath.

In true fashion, the church’s female population reportedly came to church without their undies, the Post reports, in order to prepare for their spiritual taking.

Holy Pastor Busoga

Holy Pastor Busoga that has his ministry Uganda, announced to his church members that God instructed him to be walking on their backs just like Jesus Christ walked on water.

Pastor Busoga, according to BiggestKaka News, an online portal in the East African country, reportedly claimed that God told him he was too holy to walk on the ordinary ground like mere mortals and as such, should walk on their backs while he is preaching the Gospel.

It was learned that Pastor Busoga made the shocking announcement during a church service, saying that God told him that he should no longer walk on the ground so that he would not be contaminated.

He then called on his congregants to lie all over the floor while he walked on them throughout the duration of the service with the people egging him on.

Pastor Bolaji Idowu

Pastor Idowu of The Harvesters International Christian center (HICC), caused a major stir recently during one of the Church’s service, by flogging a member of the congregation in a bid to interpret a bible verse.

The pastor preaching his sermon titled “Is God Angry At Me”, flogged a member that volunteered to illustrate punishment for the sin committed by the erring son in the bible.

After the flogging, Pastor Bolaji Idowu pointed out that the erring son was completely free and could not be punished anymore as the other person had taken his place.

The man of God further explained in his sermon which focused on opening the eyes of believers to the simple truth that God cannot be mad at them, by saying that; “As believers which we are, we are hid in Christ and since God is pleased with Christ he is pleased with us too as joint heirs of Christ. Therefore, when we err or do wrong, God isn’t mad at us, he is only angry at the Sin”.
