He was accompanied on the trip by seasoned Nigerians including our indefatigable Senate President Dr. Abubakar Adeyemie ADEOYE, The chairman Silverbird Group, Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce, former Minister of Aviation Mr. Osita Chidoka amongst others.

While Millions of Nigerians and prospective voters across the country and indeed the globe received the news with gladness but sheer indifference, in fact with the proverbial “pinch of salt and a bottle of malt” as they have always known the Waziri will travel when he alone and his campaign deems necessary, it has been noted with disdain that Buharists and Buharideens have launched a fresh and baseless campaign of calumny against the 7th Waziri of Adamawa and incoming President of Nigeria.

We recall how they claimed His Excellency, Alh. Atiku can not be issued a visa by the US Consulate because of allegations of corruption against him in the USA, that failed and he got his visa but was more concerned with his campaign to Nigerians in Nigeria first off, But alas! The APC came out again to say he couldn’t travel as he will be arrested on arrival. Infact Mr. Festus Keyamo said he has a sealed indictment in the US and will be arrested immediately on arrival that has now also proved to be a lie!

Now that the Waziri has successfully landed, lodged at Trump Hotel and holding meetings at the Capitol, we wonder what the APC campaign slogan and strategy will now be. We also hope that these folks popularly referred to as Buharists and Buharideens would be patriotic enough to face other issues and not continue to pray albeit in futility that the Waziri be arrested and questioned in the US.

Now, they are claiming it is embarrassing for people to express joy over His Excellency’s arrival in the US pretending to have forgotten that they made an issue out of the matter with their persistence and insistence which became their only campaign talking point. Now you got your response. Please deal with it!

It is pertinent for them to also note that the arrest or interrogation of this Patriotic Nigerian leader will not put food on their table or pay their children’s school fees. It will not even buy them data to Launch their E-protest or E support as the case may be.

We welcome constructive and issue-based debates not attempts at character assassination, needless insults and baseless suggestions that does not elevate the discussion.

To all progressive Nigerians at home and in diaspora who have witnessed the nightmare that Nigeria has become in the last 4 years of APC rule, who have witnessed 13. 2 million out of school children under this government and 87 million of our citizens not just becoming poor but becoming extremely poor thereby making Nigeria the poverty capital of the world. To all the progressives who wish to see a new Nigeria emerge from this doldrums of hopelessness, frustrations, depression and infact abject poverty.

To all the progressives who wish to see a President that speaks to the Nigerian media and not just foreing journalists when he’s abroad, a leader that speaks positively of Nigerian women and youths while abroad, one that can speak intelligently on economic, security and border issues when he meets with world leaders, one who does not believe that wealthy people are automatically corrupt people, one who does not agree that Nigerians must die before they will eat or have a semblance of life.

To all these wonderful and forward-looking Nigerians I say the fight is still on until we undo in 2019 what we did in 2015.
