Presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, has declared that Nigerians are all “terrorists” until they “learn to classify criminals as evil people, instead of by religion.”
Onochie, who is the special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, said this in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The presidential aide was reacting to the controversy surrounding the identity of a suspected suicide bomber who was arrested while allegedly trying to detonate some Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at a Living Faith Church in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna State.

While the police in Kaduna gave the name of the suspect as Nathaniel Samuel, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and some prominent Nigerians said the suspect earlier gave his name as Mohammed Sani at first when he was apprehended by the church.
The CAN Chairman in Kaduna, Rev. John Hayab, had said: “The church was in session when the young man came in, dropped his bag and exited as if he was going to the toilet, but didn’t come back in time. Some church members became suspicious. The church had put security measures in place such that they monitor everything going on in the church and they even have CCTV cameras.
“They discovered that what was in the bag looked like explosives, so they called the police. Let me state clearly that it was not the police that arrested him. It was the church that arrested him and then handed him over to the police.
“The police came to pick him up at the church. At the time he was interrogated at the church, he told the church that his name was Mohammed Sani, but when he was handed over to the police, the police told everyone that his name was Samuel Nathaniel,” said Hayab.
But in the post shared on her Facebook page on Tuesday, Onochie claimed that CAN and others are trying to “islamise” the suspect as part of efforts to set the country against President Buhari’s Fulani ethnic group.
“Let no one pretend to be shocked that a Christian and a Pastor was caught planting bombs in a church. This is not the first time. It’s part of the grand design to keep this country divided along north and south, Christian and Muslim, and the rest of the country against President Buhari’s ethnic group, the Fulanis,” said the presidential aide.
She added, “Until we all learn to classify criminals as evil people, instead of by religion, we are all terrorists.”
Truth has no duplicate: its worth it if everyone can call spade a spade rather than resulting to self defense either on religion issue or covering up on tribal sentiment. No matter how long falsehood travail on the land even for thousand years. truth one day will prevail. Security of this nation worth much more attention than lip service, let give it 100% attention. What is worth doing at all, worth doing well. It is disgusting to read how arrest of bomber became a religion debate to score political focus that does any good.
