West Brom Sack Manager Tony Pulis

Tony Pulis has been sacked as manager of West Bromwich Albion, after a miserable run of form that has seen the Chinese-owned club slump to 17th in the Premier League table.

The 59-year-old managed just two wins in his last 21 Premier League games.

A 4-0 defeat at home to Chelsea on Saturday extended the club’s winless run to 11 matches, leading to calls from the fans for Pulis’s dismissal.

“These decisions are never taken lightly but always in the interests of the club,” chairman John Williams said on the club’s website on Monday.

“We are in a results business and over the back end of last season and this season to date, ours have been very disappointing.

“We would like to place on record our appreciation of Tony’s contribution and hard work during a period of transition for the club which included a change of ownership. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”

The chairman also said the Assistant Head Coach Gary Megson will manage the first-team on interim bases.

West Brom face Tottenham in the Premier League at Wembley on Saturday and follow that with home games against Newcastle on 28th November and Crystal Palace on 2nd December.
