We’ve Killed Notorious Bandit Terrorizing Travelers On Kaduna-Abuja Road – Police

An alleged notorious bandit, Yellow Magaji, popularly known as Arushe, has been killed during a gun duel with operatives of the Kaduna Police Command.

Arushe was killed when the police raided the Sir Joe Guest House in the Unguwan Maigero area of Sabon Tasha in Chikun Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

A statement by the Kaduna police command’s spokesperson, Mohammed Jalinge, revealed that Arushe was killed on Wednesday.

The police said when their operatives arrived at the hotel, Arushe and other bandits took to their heels and subsequently engaged the operatives in a shootout.

Arushe and some bandits were said to have sustained bullet wounds while others including his partner, Yellow Ashana, escaped.

Jalinge said Arushe was thereafter taken to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital “for possible resuscitation in a bit to obtain useful information. But he was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.”

The police said, “It is significant to state that the neutralized bandit, Yellow Magaji until his demise was among a syndicate of bandits terrorising users of Kaduna-Abuja highway of recent”.

The police further urged the public to assist security operatives with information that may lead to the arrest of the fleeing members of the gang.

Jalinge promised that absolute confidentiality would be adhered to by the police.
