‘Whatever We Did To Deserve Gov Wike, God Please Forgive Us’ – Princewill

Prince Tonye Princewill, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asked God to “please forgive” the people of Rivers State if Governor Nyesom Wike was given to them as the wage of their sins.

Princewill, who spoke in Port Harcourt, was reacting to Governor Wike’s recent gift of 16 Sports Utility Vehicles to representatives of the State in the National Assembly.

Describing Wike’s deed as “unbridled insensitivity,” the APC chieftain wondered why the governor would lavish the state’s funds on the federal lawmakers at the peril of “youths, pensioners, widows and workers” who are allegedly suffering in the state.

“If Wike or his advisers truly appreciated the enormity of the suffering in Rivers state those youths, pensioners, widows and workers are going through, he would not have displayed his unbridled insensitivity on national news.”

“Publicity stunts are his stock in trade, but I fear this one is a bridge too far. Those who know him know that he wanted to play politics under the guise of being the governor of all. If he truly wanted to show politics without bitterness, why did he not do same for members of the house of assembly where APC members are denied even their basic rights? Look at Azubike Wanjoku, the APC member of the house arbitrarily suspended yesterday without a hearing and you see the real vindictive nature of Wike’s PDP.

“Billions can be better spent on the many not the few, especially now when the youth are crying for jobs, an end to insecurity and money to do small business. My prayer for Rivers people is whatever we did to deserve this kind of Governor, God should please please please forgive us.

“Having said that, it is moments like this, which remind Rivers people why he must improve or be removed. His time is fast running out. The clock is ticking,” Princewill said.
