WHO Advises Africa To Stop Covid-19 Deaths By Wearing Facemask As Toll Reaches 91,472

The World Health Organization (WHO), on Tuesday, warned against violating covid-19 health protocols in the continent of Africa.

WHO, Africa region, stated that if compliance is ignored it would cause the pandemic to get out of hand thereby leading to massive loss of lives.

Among other things, it said wearing of facemask was key in containing the covid-19 pandemic.

“Protect yourself and others: Wear a mask to stop the spread of covid-19,” it tweeted.

It noted that as of Tuesday, 91, 472 covid-19 related deaths have been recorded cumulatively in the continent.

It also stated that so far, 3,581, 491 coronavirus cases and over 3 million recoveries have been registered in Africa.

In Nigeria, the government is coming down heavily on those violating the order on wearing of facemask in public.

THE WHISTLER reported that about 100 violators of the executive order by the government were arrested and prosecuted in Abuja on Monday.
