The World Health Organization has confirmed that two of its staff have tested positive to the coronavirus infection.
WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday, at Geneva.
“The staff had left the office and then at home showed symptoms and were confirmed with COVID-19; we do therefore have two confirmed cases,” she said.

This is the first reported case within the United Nations health agency.
WHO’s director general, Tedros Adhanom, said at a press briefing on Monday, that the spread of the novel virus across the globe far outweighs the records in China, where it all began.
“More cases and deaths have now been reported in the rest of the world than in China,” he said.
He also said that every country and every individual should “do everything they can to stop transmission”, adding that compliance with the guidelines recommended by the organization was key to fighting the menace.
The SARs-like virus, which is now a global pandemic has led to more than 132000 cases of covid-19 in 123 countries and territories as well as over 5000 deaths.
