The World Health Organization (African Region), has disclosed that South Africa registered 364,328 (about 50%) cases, out of 721,187 total covid-19 cases in the continent.
WHO disclosed this on Monday on its Dashboard, floated on its tweet.
The country also confirmed 5,033 total deaths(about 30%), out of 15,166 total deaths in the continent.

Meanwhile, the country’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, in a press release on Monday, noted that though the country was ravaged by the pandemic, he assured that the country would get over it.
“The coronavirus is a dark cloud that is hanging over the lives of South Africans and the economic fortunes of our country.
“South Africa is not alone; many countries are experiencing harsh economic challenges.
“As much as COVID-19 hangs over our country, there is a silver lining to this dark cloud,” he stated, as published on the Government’s website.
Also trailing South Africa is Egypt, which has a total of 87,775 cases and 4302 deaths so far.
WHO had urged African governments and health authorities to continue to test, trace and treat every case.
