Why Corruption Scandals In NDDC, EFCC, NSITF Must Be Prosecuted- Moghalu

A former presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu, has said that the revelations emerging from various agencies and arm of government should not be swept under the carpet, but be properly prosecuted.

According to Moghalu, if people are not held accountable for corrupt practices, the country would keep going round in circles.

The management of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as well as other agencies, are undergoing various probes over corruption allegations.

On Monday, the Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, also accused some of the members of National Assembly of benefitting from contracts in the NDDC.

But Moghalu has maintained that everyone indicted in all the probes must be held accountable.

On the Magu-EFCC probe, Moghalu stated that all the “factions” must be held accountable.

His Tuesday tweet reads:

“Unless and until there is criminal accountability from all the corruption scandals raging in the NDDC, NSITF and @officialEFCC , it’s all sound and fury, signifying nothing.

“And when we speak of accountability we are talking about the real bigwigs, not small fry taking the fall.

“If the events at @nassnigeria with recent questioning and responses are anything to go by, with members identified as having gotten 60% of the contracts at NDDC, you can see why this is all a merry-go-round. God help us!

“Regardless of whatever may emerge from the investigations of Magu, this, as I have said in an earlier tweet on the subject, is all a factional war, and ALL the factions need to be brought to account.”
