Why I Resigned As Commissioner In Zamfara To Work For Imo Governor – Shinkafi

The recently appointed Imo State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hajia Rabbi Shinkafi, has revealed why she left her position as Commissioner for Women and Children in Zamfara State to work for Governor Hope Uzodinma.

According to Shinkafi, her decision to work for Governor Uzodinma stemmed from a mutual agreement and not because “there was a friction between the first lady and myself.”

Hajia Rabbi was sworn in as a Commissioner alongside 17 others by Governor Uzodinma on Monday at the government house in Owerri.

In an interview with the News Agency Of Nigeria, she said contrary to rumors making the rounds about her appointment, she is on good terms with Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle and his wife, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle.

“I resigned my appointment as commissioner in Zamfara to enable me to pick another appointment as commissioner in Imo, I am immensely grateful to Gov. Bello Matawalle and his Wife, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle, for their kindness to me and for giving me the opportunity to serve Zamfara in different capacities,” she said.

“All the speculations in the social media about my resignation are completely false; it was just the work of mischief-makers.

“I have a perfect and cordial relationship with the governor and his wife. I consider them as my family and they were in the picture of my going to Imo.

“Both Governors Hope Uzodinma of Imo and Matawalle discussed it as fellow All Progressives Congress governors and as friends too,” she said.
