Why Nigeria Is Not Yet A Global Power – Moghalu

A former presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu, has identified lack of unity as one of the reasons Nigeria has yet to become a world power.

The founder of the ‘To build A Nation’ movement, said on Monday that the nation was finding it difficult to make a headway because her citizens were yet to have a unifying vision for the country.

He also held that strong and stable institutions empowered a nation for greatness.

He noted that Nigeria had no strong institutions.

“Can any African country become a global power in the 21st century?

“Nigeria can, but we are still too divided, unstable, disorganised, and led by an unpatriotic political class.

“To become a global power, we must first get it right at home.

“A unifying world view is missing,” he tweeted.

His views came just a few days after the Presidency and former President Olusegun Obasanjo tackled each over the state of the nation.

While Obasanjo said the country had almost failed under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidency replied that Buhari did more to hold the country together than Obasanjo.
