According to the DG, increased testing at state levels, especially within Lagos State, has led to fewer number of people testing positive.

He further said it was high time Nigerians stopped doubting the figures the centre pushes out adding that the world was in a new era of information where every bit of information is analyzed.

Nigeria has recorded 49,068 cases out of which 36,447 have recovered and 975 dead.

The DG however clarified that initial low testing capacity was not due to any fault of the Centre or laboratories.

He said the low testing environment was due to challenges which include: organizing, transporting samples for test, and updating Nigerians with the result.
