Wike Approves Payment Of Fees Of Final Year Students On Foreign Scholarship

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has approved the payment of the outstanding fees of final year students of Rivers State origin on scholarship in foreign universities.

This was revealed by the state commissioner of Agriculture, Mrs Onimim Jack, who oversees the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) on Wednesday, during a meeting with parents of the children studying abroad under the scholarship of the state government.

Mrs Jack who said that the payment of the outstanding fees for the final year students on foreign scholarship will be paid in installments, added that all foreign institutions affected by this new development have been contacted by the state government.

The commissioner said that all the other students will conclude their studies at the University of Port Harcourt and the Rivers State University of Science and Technology under full scholarship of the Rivers State Government.

According to her, the State Government has engaged with the two institutions on the absorption of the affected students.
