Wimbledon: Federer Beats Raonic, To Face Berdych In Semis

Roger Federer defeated Canadian Milos Raonic in three straight sets to advance to the semi-final of the Wimbledon men’s tennis.

The Swiss, who is yet to drop a set, beat last year’s runner-up 6-4 6-2 7-6 as he won in his 100th singles match at Wimbledon.

The 35-year-old veteran will now play Czech Tomas Berdych in the first semi-final on Friday.

Berdych was gifted his match against number 2 seed Novak Djokovic, after he injured his shoulder in his fourth round match against Adrian Mannarino on Tuesday. The Serbian was already trailing 6-7 0-2 when he called time out.

American Sam Querrey will play Croatia’s Marin Cilic in the other semi-final.

With Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic both exiting the tournament, Federer will surely fancy his chances against Tomas Berdych in the semi-finals and either Marin Cillic or Sam Querry in the final.
