Women With Sensitive Nose More Likely To Orgasm During Sex –Study

People who have a good sense of smell have been revealed to be beneficiaries of a more pleasant sexual experience.

This was disclosed in a new study led by Johanna Bendas from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany.

“The perception of body fluids such as vaginal fluids, sperm, and sweat” could lead to an enriched sexual experience, Bendas said.

The smelling ability of 42 women and 28 men aged 18 to 36 was analyzed in the research using ‘Sniffin’ Sticks’ that measured the level at which a person could detect a smelly chemical.

The researchers also asked the volunteers a number of questions about their sexual desires, sexual experiences, as well as their sexual performances. This included questions that covered their orgasm frequency, how often they had sex, and how long their sexual intercourse lasted on average.

The analysis found no correlation between odour sensitivity and sexual desire or sexual performance. But a higher sensitivity to odours did correlate positively with sexual experience.

“These findings were exclusively present for sexual experience; no significant correlations were detected for sexual desire or sexual performance. The experience of sexual interactions appears to be enriched by the olfactory input.

“We discussed that the perception of certain body odours may contribute to the concept of sexual pleasure by enhanced recruitment of reward areas,” the report read.

Meanwhile, results from previous research have also proofed that a man’s scent can make him more attractive to women especially if his diet consists of more fruits and vegetables than refined carbohydrates.
