World War II: US Military Celebrates Oldest Veteran At 111 Years

The United States of America on Saturday, celebrated its oldest military veteran, Lawrence Brooks, who clocked 111 years of age.

US Department of Defence Secretary Mark T. Esper, gave the salutation on behalf of the entire US military.

“Happy 111th birthday to our oldest living WW2 veteran, Lawrence Brooks.

“I salute your service and your lifetime of determination,” he tweeted.

Brooks fought the Second World War, between 1939 and 1949.

He joined the US military at age 31.

He also served as an Engineer Battalion during the war.
