Manchester City thrashed Arsenal 3-0 in the English Premier League on Thursday at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners fell against City the same score line in last Sunday’s League Cup game, conceding 3 first half goals at home for the first time in history.
“I must say we lost against a top-quality team who is at the moment the best team in the country,” Wenger told reporters after City restored a 16-point lead at the top of the table with goals from Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Leroy Sane.
Following the defeat Arsenal fans have vented their frustration at the team’s performance, with many calling for the sack of manager, Arsene Wenger.
World renowned journalist and longtime Arsenal supporter, Piers Morgan, joined the long list of people calling for the end of Wenger’s 21-year reign at the club.
Morgan on Thursday described the team’s performance as disgraceful, saying it is the worst he has ever seen an Arsenal team play.
30 points off the Premier League lead & 10pts off Top4… why are we even still debating Wenger’s future? Arsenal’s board need to do their bloody job, grow a pair & sack him. The time for ‘Arsene will leave when he wants to’ bullsh*t is over. pic.twitter.com/YGXPlAfbYl

My son wears an arsenal top under his uniform everyday.
He also wears his arsenal puma tracksuit every time he’s got football.
Today he said to me “mum I’m wearing my Nike tracksuit bottoms and a black top for football today, I can’t believe they lost again”
He’s so hurt…

Trolling Arsenal isn’t even fun anymore. It almost feels like making fun of a special needs kid.

What if arsenal football club is a social experiment to test how long one can support a club before committing suicide? pic.twitter.com/R04RbLiBsx
