Xmas: Don’t Embark On Night Journey, FRSC Warns Nigerians

The unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Samuel Oyedeji has advised Nigerians against embarking on night journey during the festive season.

Oyedeji, who said this while briefing newsmen, said night journeys are responsible for many auto crashes in the Christmas period.

He said the unit had deployed its personnel to ensure that highways have free flow of traffic and motorists follow road safety rules.

He also urged motorist to ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy before embarking on a trip.

“The command has embarked on a full-scale enforcement to eradicate reckless driving, overtaking, over loading and use of phone while driving.

“Majority of the accidents are as a result of reckless driving and night journey in which armed robbers, potholes, grounded vehicles, among others, cause accidents,” he said.
