Yamal Scores Stunning Goal As Barcelona Defeat Oviedo

Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal scored a stunning goal to lead them to a 3-0 win over Oviedo in a La Liga encounter at Camp Nou on Sunday.

The hosts were held to a frustrating goalless in the first half before Dani Olmo broke the deadlock after the restart.

He slotted into the bottom corner for the opener in the 52nd minute.

Five minutes later, Raphinha increased Barca’s lead with a sublime finish, taking advantage of a mistake from David Costas.

Yamal put the icing on the cake with a spectacular bicycle kick from Olmo’s looped ball into the box.

It was the 10th consecutive win at home for Barca, with this the first time they have recorded 10 or more home wins under the same manager in LaLiga since December 2019 (W14 under Ernesto Valverde).

The win helped Barcelona to regain their one point lead on the La Liga table after 21 matches.

Flick expressed his disappointment with the team’s first half performance.

He said: “I wasn’t happy with the first half, but I understand.

“The most important thing is that we recovered, made the right changes, and it worked.

“We also want to be at our best. If you win, that’s fine, even if you played a first half like today’s. Players always want to play well.”

Atletico Madrid regained third place by beating Mallorca 3-0.

It was the first time in six matches this year that Atletico scored more than one goal.

The victory moved Diego Simeone’s team three points ahead of Villarreal, which remains with a game in hand.

Alexander Sorloth put the hosts ahead by scoring his fourth goal of the year in the 22nd minute.

Atletico’s second goal was an unfortunate own-goal by Mallorca defender David López in the 75th. His teammate Mateu Morey attempted to clear a cross inside the area and his shot struck López in the face and ricocheted back into the net.

Midfielder Thiago Almada sealed Atletico’s second straight league victory in the 87th.
