‘You’re A Shameful Aberration’, Omokri Slams Magu For Wearing Buhari’s Re-Election Lapel
Reno Omokri, aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has attacked Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, for wearing an emblem of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Magu, in an interview on Channels TV on Tuesday, was seen wearing a lapel pin bearing Buhari’s 2019 re-election bid.
The act was seen by many Nigerians as compromising EFCC’s independence, with total allegiance to President Buhari’s re-election.
Reacting on Wednesday, Omokri described the act as a “shameful aberration”, adding that none of Magu’s predecessors engaged in such an act.
Someone should remind Ibrahim Magu it was the PDP that created EFCC not Buhari. And in 16 years that the PDP governed Nigeria, not one of the chairmen of the EFCC ever wore a lapel pin promoting the reelection of the PDP President that appointed him. Magu is a shameful aberration

Among notable Nigerians who condemned Magu was a seasoned columnist, Kayode Ogundamisi, who took to Twitter to express his disapproval of the action of the EFCC boss.
Ogundamisi wrote, “EFCC is not the private property of @NGRPresident @MBuhari the head of the agency wearing a Buhari lapel compromises his independence. The loyalty of heads of agencies is to the constitution of Nigeria and the acts establishing them. Magu is bringing EFCC into disrepute”
