With this feature, users will be able to broadcast live video from their mobile devices by just hitting a button. Users will have to tap the big red capture button in the corner, select an image to use as a thumbnail, and then they can broadcast live to followers. YouTube says near real-time chat will be there.
Announcing the news, Kurt Wilms, Product Lead, Immersive Experiences at YouTube said, “Today, we are announcing a new chapter in bringing the power of live video to creators everywhere. Soon, we’ll be putting the power of YouTube live streaming in the palm of your hands.
The announcement was made at VidCon where the company showcased a quick demo of how the feature works.

The new feature is available to only a few YouTube content creators, and it will be rolled out for the public users soon.
Prior to today, Facebook Live and Twitter’s Periscope have been the go-to places for broadcasting live on a mobile phone.
YouTube added live streaming to its platform in 2011.
