You’ve Improved Nigeria’s Reputation Globally, VON DG Praises Kyari’s Appointment As NNPC GMD

The Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr. Osita Okechukwu, has applauded the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, saying the corporation’s global reputation improved after his appointment. 

Okechukwu, who led a delegation of the management staff of VON on a courtesy visit to the NNPC management in Abuja, Nigeria, noted that Kyari’s appointment has also put a credibility seal on the operations and activities of the Corporation.

The VON DG, however, solicited for a partnership between the two Organisations to achieve various projects of NNPC and foster economic growth in the country.

“We are determined to promote programmes and activities of Nigerian government in positive ways.

“since the past four years, NNPC has improved on its contributions to the socio-economic base in the country and we have to let the world be aware of that through our various means of information dissemination,” he said.

Describing VON as an unbiased international broadcasting organisation, Kyari expressed the corporation’s willingness to partner with VON in the effective dissemination of information in relation to all its activities.

He also restated that the National oil company would continue to maintain transparency and accountability in its day-to-day activities.

“We appreciate the contributions of Voice of Nigeria in promoting not only the activities of the NNPC but government activities before the world and we cannot miss the opportunity of keying into the good work of VON,” Kyari said.
