This website had reported that hundreds of residents scampered to safety when the bandits attacked the villages, burnt down houses and carted away properties belonging to the residents.

The Emir confirmed the villages to include: Dutsin Gari, Asha-lafiya, Rayau, Munkuru, Mahuta and Talli.

According to BBC Hausa, some unnamed sources lamented the absence of security personnel during the incident despite pre-warnings from the government that the state had been compromised.

The Emir described the current state of the affected villages as terrible, calling on the Governor to come to their aid.

Governor Matawalle, in his response, commiserated with the communities and gave assurances to restore normalcy to the community.

“I will very soon send some relief materials to all of you as soon as possible,” he said.

Matawalle, however, mentioned that his administration will not fail to bring the perpetrators to book to serve as a deterrent to others.
