Zuma’s Statue: ‘World’s Most Corrupt Country Honours Their Own’ – S/Africans Say

South Africans have reacted angrily to the erected statue of their President Jacob Zuma by Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha.

Mr. Zuma, who is facing multiple accusations of corruption, fraud, and money laundering in his country, arrived Imo State on a two-day working visit on Friday.

The South African government said Mr. Zuma would be in Owerri, the Imo State capital, to “strengthen socio-economic relations and further deepen existing cooperation in the field of education.”

While in Imo, the South African President bagged the chieftaincy title ‘Ochiagha’ (Warlord) as well as had his statue unveiled in the state capital.

Rather than welcome the gesture, South Africans lashed out at governor Okorocha for honouring Zuma who is facing over 700 cases of corruption in his country.
