World football governing body may allow Platini to stand if his 90-day ban ends before the election on 26 February.
However, the UEFA General Secretary, who has been a good friend to Michel Platini, maintained that he will step down if his boss is given the go ahead to run.
The 45-year-old said: “My candidacy is not in opposition to Michel.
“If he is able to stand, I will withdraw. It’s a simple principle of loyalty.
“But right now I am a candidate 100% and I’m moving forward, not only for Europe but for world football.”
Seven candidates are vying for the position of football’s most important job, they include: Michel Platini, Prince Ali Bin Hussein, Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Jerome Champagne, Tokyo Sexwale, Gianni Infantino, and Musa Bility.
