FIFA Presidency: Infantino To Pull out For Platini

FIFA presidential candidate, Gianni Infantino has said he will pull out of the race if suspended UEFA president, Michel Platini is permitted to run.

World football governing body may allow Platini to stand if his 90-day ban ends before the election on 26 February.

However, the UEFA General Secretary, who has been a good friend to Michel Platini, maintained that he will step down if his boss is given the go ahead to run.

The 45-year-old said: “My candidacy is not in opposition to Michel.

“If he is able to stand, I will withdraw. It’s a simple principle of loyalty.

“But right now I am a candidate 100% and I’m moving forward, not only for Europe but for world football.”

Seven candidates are vying for the position of football’s most important job, they include: Michel Platini, Prince Ali Bin Hussein, Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Jerome Champagne, Tokyo Sexwale, Gianni Infantino, and Musa Bility.
