Eze Ajomiwe, who is also the President of the South East zone of Cassava Farmers Association of Nigeria, said the herdsmen are responsible for the destruction of the farm which is located at Amakama area of Umuahia.
Describing the action as deliberate and a calculated attempt to impoverish farmers in the state, Eze Ajomiwe said, “This is nothing but an intentional destruction of farmlands by Fulani herdsmen.”
He explained that the National Cereal Research Institute gave him 10 hectares of land out of which he used five hectares to plant improved cassava variety called “TME419”.
