Ekong, however, shattered Bafana Bafana’s hopes to proceed in the championship after scoring a second goal for Nigeria in the 88th minute.

The Super Eagles had shown more intensity in the match, making it difficult for Bafana Bafana to penetrate Nigeria’s defence which was manned by Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo.
