Nigeria vs South Africa: Super Eagles Beat Bafana Bafana 2-1

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have knocked their South African counterpart Bafana Bafana out of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament after a 2-1 match on Wednesday at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.

Eagles secured their spot in the semi-finals of the 2019 AFCON tournament with an 88th minute goal by William Ekong

The Eagles and Bafana Bafana clash saw Samuel Chukwueze scoring the first goal for Nigeria in the first half, but South Africa equalized in the second half after a goal by Bongani Zungu.

Ekong, however, shattered Bafana Bafana’s hopes to proceed in the championship after scoring a second goal for Nigeria in the 88th minute.

The Super Eagles had shown more intensity in the match, making it difficult for Bafana Bafana to penetrate Nigeria’s defence which was manned by Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo.
