NPFL: Yobo Denies Joining Pillars

The 36-year-old defender announced his retirement in June but reached an agreement with the League Management Company to play for a domestic league club as a means of promoting and adding value to the league by attracting more spectators to the various league match venues.

It will be recalled that few weeks back, it widely reported that the former Everton star signed for Kano Pillars.

However, Yobo on Thursday denied signing with Kano based side or any other club in the Nigeria Premier League.

“I read that I was missing in action last weekend. I have not signed for Kano Pillars or any NPFL club. Yet,” he tweeted.

In what could be described as a fruitful career, Yobo played 101 times for the national team and also enjoyed numerous spells in top leagues across Europe.
