The Johnsons: 19 Months After Ada Ameh’s Death, Charles Inojie Announces End Of TV Show

Veteran Nollywood actor, Charles Inojie, has announced the end of the Nigerian sitcom, ‘The Johnsons,’ 19 months after the passing of actress Ada Ameh.

The iconic TV show, known for its humour and heartwarming moments, has entertained Nigerians for 13 years.

Inojie, renowned for his role as Lucky Johnson, took to his Instagram page late Monday to announce the end of the sitcom.

The actor took a journey through the show’s history by posting behind-the-scenes photos on his Instagram account, while xpressing gratitude to the cast, crew, and devoted viewers, as he bid farewell to the iconic series.

He wrote, “THANK YOU, AFRICA. After 13 years of absolute magic,13 years of awesomeness,13 years of being Africa’s most-watched show on television,13 years of being every family’s favorite,

“THE JOHNSONS is finally taking a bow. I thank my co-travelers, the wonderful team of cast and crew, without whom these past 13 years could not have been spectacularly outstanding as THE JOHNSONS made it.

“I am immensely grateful to our fans across the African continent for the love and support we got unconditionally.”

Acknowledging the support from fans across Africa, he added, “While it is the beginning of greater exploits from every individual member of the team, like every good thing that must have a terminal point, it is the end of the road for THE JOHNSONS. THANK YOU”.

Inojie’s announcement came barely seven months after the team held a one-year remembrance for Ada Ameh.

In a clip shared by Inojie, ‘The Johnsons’ cast and crew paid tribute to the late actress, noting the impact of her loss on the team.

Ameh died after reportedly collapsing in Warri on July 17, 2022, at the age of 48. She was said to have suffered from mental health issues before her death.

Ameh was buried on August 26, 2022, in her hometown in Otukpo, Benue State.
