U.S President Donald Trump on Friday said his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on June 12 in Singapore, is back on.
Trump made the announcement after talks with a senior North Korean official at the White House.
His decision comes a week after scrapping the meeting.
The envoy, Gen Kim Yong-chol, came to the White House with a letter from the country’s leader Kim Jong Un.
“The relationships are building and that’s a very positive thing,” Trump said after the meeting, adding that he is yet to read the letter.
It’s the highest-level meeting between a US president and a North Korean official since 2000.
The historic meeting between Mr Trump and Kim Jong-un would be the first between sitting US and North Korean leaders.
