Trump Says Summit With Kim Jong Un Back On

U.S President Donald Trump on Friday said his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on June 12 in Singapore, is back on.

Trump made the announcement after talks with a senior North Korean official at the White House.

His decision comes a week after scrapping the meeting.

The envoy, Gen Kim Yong-chol, came to the White House with a letter from the country’s leader Kim Jong Un.

“The relationships are building and that’s a very positive thing,” Trump said after the meeting, adding that he is yet to read the letter.

It’s the highest-level meeting between a US president and a North Korean official since 2000.

The historic meeting between Mr Trump and Kim Jong-un would be the first between sitting US and North Korean leaders.
