Abia Majority Leader Celebrates ‘Superhero’ James Ume On Birthday
The Majority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Okoro Uchenna Kalu, has described Chief James Ume, Publisher of THE WHISTLER newspaper and Chairman of the Unubiko Foundation, as “an angel in human form” as the media entrepreneur marks his birthday on October 1.
Kalu, who represents Arochukwu State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, made the statement in a birthday tribute released on Tuesday to celebrate Chief Ume.

In the tribute, the majority leader expressed deep gratitude for Ume’s influence on his life and political career.
“1st October of every year has been a very Special Day for me personally. It was the day God blessed me with all the joy I could ever ask for by assigning me to an Elder Brother like Ike Abam,” Kalu stated.
The lawmaker described the media entrepreneur as more than a brother, saying: “Apart from being an Elder Brother to me, you have been my Destiny Helper, my support system, a Mentor and a father figure.”
Kalu credited Ume with providing support throughout his political journey: “The story of my political activities has your name in every sentence. Whenever I needed you, you were always there to support my decisions.”

He further praised Ume’s commitment and consistency, adding: “You took me as your project and never abandoned me halfway.”
The majority leader lauded his philanthropic work through the Unubiko Foundation and his impact on numerous individuals, families, and organisations.
“You are one-of-a-kind and simply irreplaceable. I am yet to see anyone who has a heart as large as yours,” Kalu said.
“You are indeed a rich person. This is simply because everyone around you owes a lot to your kindness, guidance, mentorship, and solid support.
“You deserve to be celebrated every day of your life, Ike Abam, because you’re my Superhero.”

In his prayers for the celebrant, Kalu said: “May God satisfy you with good health, joy Unspeakable and Peace immeasurable. May you never know a better yesterday.”
Ume is also the Chairman/CEO of Channelkoos Media Consult.
He founded THE WHISTLER in 2013 after leaving Leadership Newspapers, where he had risen through various editorial and management positions.
Ume, who holds degrees in Accountancy, Business Management, and Communication Management, established the Unubiko Foundation as his philanthropic arm to support the underprivileged.
