Accident Claims Two Lives On Abuja Expressway

Two persons have been confirmed dead following an accident in the early hours of Friday on the Sani Abacha Expressway, Wuse, Abuja.

The accident, which occurred at about 1:00 a.m. after a bridge, involved a Mercedes Benz 4Matic GL550 with registration number RBC-95DJ and a HOWO truck tipper belonging to Big-Dee Company from Nasarawa State.

The Federal Emergency Management Department (FEMD), Head of Public Affairs, Nkechi Isa, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said the Mercedes Benz rammed into the rear of the truck, which was fully loaded with fine stones.

The impact claimed the lives of the driver of the Mercedes Benz and his female passenger on the spot. Their bodies have been deposited at the National Hospital morgue in Abuja.

Isa noted that personnel of the FEMD, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the FCT Police Command were at the scene of the incident.
