COREN To Enhance Operational Efficiency With New Headquarters Project
The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) on Thursday inaugurated a Technical Committee for its permanent headquarters, the Jahi-Abuja project.
Inaugurating the committee, the President of COREN, Professor Sadiq Abubakar, emphasised that the project represents a major milestone in the Council’s history.
He noted that the proposed world-class headquarters symbolises COREN’s institutional growth and resilience and strengthens its capacity for enduring service to engineering practice in Nigeria.
The president highlighted the strategic importance of the project in enhancing the Council’s operational efficiency, visibility, and regulatory effectiveness.
He further reassured stakeholders of COREN’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in the execution of the project.
The committee, chaired by Engr Olaolu Ogunduyile, comprises eminent Engineering Professionals and experts, including Engr Ibikunle S. Ogunbayo, Engr Prof. O.A.U. Uche, Engr Tasui S. G. Wudil, Engr Felix Atume, Engr Ibrahim A. Maimaje, Engr Denis Dania, Engr Kam-Salem A. Bukar, and Engr (Barrister) Ezeilo Chigboka Joseph.

The Terms of Reference (ToR) for the committee cover project scoping and definition, technical and financial feasibility studies, developing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models, ensuring regulatory compliance, engaging stakeholders and potential investors, and submitting periodic progress reports to the COREN Council.
Abubakar charged the Committee to deliver on its mandate with diligence, innovation, and integrity, noting that the successful completion of the headquarters would stand as a lasting legacy to the engineering profession in Nigeria.
