Enugu Electricity Company Announces Power Outage

Enugu-based MainPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited, MEDL, on Tuesday, announced a planned power outage in some parts of Enugu Metropolis on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

MEDL is the subsidiary of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC.

The planned outage was announced by the Head of Communications of MEDL, Mr Emeka Ezeh, in a statement. Eze said the outage, scheduled to last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., was to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, to carry out essential maintenance works on its facilities.

MEDL announced the affected parts to include Kingsway (Lines 1 & 2), Emene Industrial (Lines 1 & 2), Ugwuogo, Thinkers Corner, Trans Ekulu, Ituku Ozalla, and the Government House.

Others are the entire Abakpa District, 9th Mile and surrounding communities, Shoprite Axis, Golf Estate, Zoo Estate, Okpara Avenue, Kingsway Area, Abakaliki Road, CBN Quarters, Railway Quarters, Artisan, Ngwo, Coal Camp, Ologo Quarters, Uwani, Asata, Golden Royale, and Iva Valley.

The company, in the release, expressed regret over the inconvenience the development would cause its customers. It assured that electricity supply would be restored immediately after the maintenance work was completed.

He reiterated the company’s commitment towards providing improved and reliable services to its customers.
