FAAC Allocates N2.1tn To FG, States, LGs For September
The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), at its October 2025 meeting chaired by the Accountant General of the Federation, Shamsudeen Ogunjimi shared a total sum of N2.103tn to the three tiers of government as federation allocation for the month of September 2025 from a gross total of N3.054tn.
From the stated amount inclusive of Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT) and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), the Federal Government received N711.31bn, the States received N727.170bn, the Local Government Councils got N529.954bn, while the Oil Producing States received N134.956bn as 13 per cent derivation.
The sum of N116.149bn was given for the cost of collection, while N835.005bn was allocated for Transfers Intervention and Refunds.
The Communique issued by the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) at the end of the meeting indicated that the Gross Revenue available from the Value Added Tax (VAT) for the month of September 2025, was N872.630bn as against N722.619bn distributed in the preceeding month, resulting in an increase of N150.011bn.
From the stated amount, the sum of N34.905bn was allocated for the cost of collection and the sum of N25.132bn given for Transfers, Intervention and Refunds.
Accordingly, the Gross Statutory Revenue of N2.128bn received for the month was lower than the sum of N2.838tn received in the previous month by N710.134bn .

Also, the sum of N53.838 Billion from Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) was distributed to the three tiers of government as follows: the Federal Government received N7.753bn, States got N25.842bn, Local Government Councils received N18.089bn, while N2.154bn was allocated for Cost of Collection.
Value Added Tax ( VAT), Import Duty, and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) increased significantly, while CET Levies and Company Income Tax (CIT) decreased considerably.
Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) increased marginally, while Oil and Gas Royalty and Excise Duty recorded marginal decreases.
