Father Of Murder Victim Testifies Against Alleged Ritual Killers

A Rivers State High Court has heard the harrowing testimony of Onyedikachi Ohuchie, the father of one of the two children allegedly murdered by Antekhan Sunday and his native doctor, Kingsley Opurum. 

The accused are standing trial for conspiracy and murder of two minors in Rukpukwu town, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.

During cross-examination, Ohuchie revealed that Sunday confessed to him that Opurum asked him to submit human blood for rituals. 

The witness clarified that he did not know the accused persons before the crime but got to know them after their arrest.

The trial judge, Justice Rita Ogugua, adjourned the case till November 7th and 13th, 2025, for cross-examination of prosecution witness number two.

Sunday and Opurum are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy and murder. 

According to the charges, they allegedly conspired to murder two minors on March 22, 2025, in Rukpukwu town. 

The prosecution alleged that Sunday used a kitchen knife to slaughter the victims and extracted their blood as directed by Opurum for money rituals.

The Rivers State Government, however, has taken over the prosecution of the case through the Ministry of Justice, represented by Precious Ordu.
